To action a Plan click on the Item name in the Plan Hub to go to the record page.
NOTE: There are two stages when actioning:
- Drafting (Planning) - Managing checklist items, updating key fields etc.
- Published (Planned) - Related Child Items (Actions) are created and assigned. Plan can not longer be edited.
You will see what stage the Plan is in: Planning (draft) and Planning (Published) next to the Item Name in the Grid. The record page layout will also look different.
Planning Process
Once in the Planning Record Page you will see that we have provided a guided process to equip you to implement your plan successfully. As you progress simply 'Mark Stage as Complete'.
To view more information on Guided Processes click here.
The process for driving forward an Plan is:
- Locate Initiative
- Create Plan
- In the Planning Record Page move through guided process steps to define, measure, analyse, and review specifics of the plan. During this drafting stage we have provided the means to create checklist items and manage any issues that may arise.
- Then implement the Plan by assigning an owner or person responsible and 'Publish and Create Child Items for action via a achiever.
Once published a plan needs to move to Control stage, and will automatically be changed from planning to planned. Once planned the details of the plan, targets etc cannot be changed.
To Publish Plan
To publish the plan once it has been finalised click on the 'Publish Plan and Items' TAB next to detail.
This flow will appear. Relevant information will be taken from the Plan so you will only need to provide the action's name, start date, duration and increment for the number of actions you wish to create.
Then click Next.
You then will be able to review your actions and edit any ownership if required.
Once you have completed your review simply refresh your page.
Now the Plan record page will be updated to the 'Planned' Status and you will be able to review all "Related Items" associated with this Plan.
Handover Process
When creating action items, you may be assigning these to 'Achievers' within your company. Ensure that you provide any additional information that will enable them to action the item accordingly. This can be done via chatter on the Action record.
